Bapak sudah mau pulang, dong..

"Bang!" the guard salutes me as i walk through the gates, coming back from 7E. its usual that we greet each other with the salutation "bang" and grin widely but never a salute. What's up? i wondered..

Then, he tell me about how his 3 year old son always speaks to him on the phone but doesn't recognize his face and how much he misses him. n about his plan to open a grocery store upon his return. He's from Medan. then, we apologize for any wrongdoings and wish each other luck and shake hand. He has a hand of a hardworking man, big, rough and sweaty.

yeah, i really get along with people, pangkat doesn't mean a thing to me, bcoz eventually we all goin to end up dlm lubang kubur. even when i was a doctor, i always respect and tegur all the makcik sapu and pak gad. at least, they are more sincere than the doctors.

but, this post is about how fast time flies n i'm still stuck at this spot. I mean, he's told me the plan before and suddenly, it is materializing. it is really kinda wake up call for me. i know that interviews are hard to get nowadays but one?

so, i need to get my income automation fast, then, settle things up with the kuda kayu malaysia (kementerian kesihatan malaysia). but ,if i become a h.o here, i'm never going to take the AMC. So, till the end of this month, if i get a job, then, planning for AMC and Oz is still on. but, if not, then, it's h.o in malaysia and i'm stuck in the rat race, chasing my own tail to the graveyard.

Lost and found

i went to see a play last sat with the above title. it's a story bout whats lost in life. its good, no bull, but i really haven't got the found part. whether it's not there or my right side brain is unsynapsing, i dunno. the part where it made me think the most was, this;

Mr A (i forgot the name) works for the gov, later got sent to sabah for 2 years and leaving his family behind. then, wanting to be with his family, he quits his gov post, and decided to work in the private sector. then, as his career grows, he have to work around the clock to make ends meet. again, he become more disconnected with his son. until, he was like, 40 or 50, he decided to start his own business to have more free time with his family. but, his business went bust and he made several attempt to start a couple of business but all were unsuccessful. now, in his retirement age, he had no pension, all his saving are spent towards his business, and his son doesn't love him claiming he was never there for him.

the story is more or less goes like that.

so, point to ponder..
i) all that he's been doing is for his family. but, why the ending has to be like that?
ii) feel any eerie similarity? i work like hell plus OT some more but my children don't know me? like the old people saying, money can't buy hapiness, aint it?
iii) but, if i don't work, who's gonna foot the bills? food?
iv)does the son is right in doing so? i mean, yeah, he's deprived of love but then, the father is the one providing food, clothes, shelter to him until he grows up.
v) u know what. i bet that this is everybody's dilemma. but, here's a story, i have a friend, live in the kaya part of ampang with a huge comfortable house but seldom sees his pa bcoz the pa always works overseas. but he still loves his pa, though sometimes he do feel sad bout it, but hey, he UNDERSTANDS....i think, its the understanding part that make the difference..

some people just can't understand. but, they are not wrong as well. i mean, when grow up, which kinda memory stick to u and made u feel warm? ur father taking u to the playround or seeing a huge 40 inch LCD TV in da houz? again, from personal exp, i can tell that it's the former. having lost my father since i was a kid, i always remember these stuff about my father:
i) his smell
ii) his smile
iii) his dance to the Hindustan tune
iv) the day he present me my prize during my tadika sports day
v) the day he came to pick up at school one day. i take the bus everyday.
vi) every evening he always take me in our proton jalan2 n he always stop at this one shop, give me seringgit, and told me buy any drinks i want. i never forgot the blue schweppes i bought.
vii) the sound of your father car coming home. (ahahaa, sorry mr.kevin, i stole ur line)

now, how many millions did my dad spent? to have his smell. to have his smile. to dance to the hindustan tune.

that's why u can see anak orang susah2 lebih cherish their parents more compare to anak2 orang kaya. not all, but mostly.so parents, do not fall into the false pretense that giving=loving.

god, i miss my dad so freaking much.

other story in the play is a son losing touch with his father even though he take care of his father everyday but he's father loves his grandchild more. i think the message here is, while indeed your father or mother need care in their later years, it is the love and attention that they need more.

que my mom....taradaatatttata..now, the tone of nag has changed to why don't you more time to spent with me..adoi...like the old people saying, diluah mati mak, ditelan mati bapak.ahaha..

its been a while since i had seen a play. great story, although some parts feels a bit rushed. great acting, some showed their inexperincedity (is this a valid word? haha) but hey, effort wise, top class. the delivery techniques is fresh and engaging to the audience as well. shows that u dont need fancy pancy props to come out with a great show.

What an amazing morning. almost all the traffic lights to day lit green whenever i approached them ( usually all of them will be bloody red, 1 after 1, for like, a freaking hour!) n then i get to eat one of the best roti canai in the world while browsing around. at padang jawa.

an interesting stuff happened is dat initially, i saw this guy in red shirt and jean shorts in the middle of the road. i was like, what the heck man? roadkill? then, i tersesat masuk ke kpg pdg jawa n had to make a u turn. then, he was there again. instead, he was trying to get a ride! aha, poor him. sebab he looks bigger and stronger than me so i didn't dare to give a ride. sat g die taboh aku mampoih then ambek moto aku.

so, die g mkn kt kedai roti canai tu n after dat, still trying to hitchhike on anything his can get his paws on. moto ka, kete ka, lori sampah ka..mcm2 taktik lak tu. senyum la, wat best sign la, suro stop2 la..last2 aku rasa dia dapat lori sampah tu kot.

so, i think the reason he failed to get a proper ride is:
1) it's bloody rush hour even though it's a public holiday
2) he's on a busy road. his chances will be better if he's at a more secluded road. orang akan leibh kasihan.
3) he appears to be hostile. yeah, i know, how else should a homeless person should appear like rite? but, nampak mcm penjenayah. kalau wat muka alim2 kucing, at least your chances will be better.

The Waiters tries to make The Doesn't Waiters become like themselves,
but The Doesn't Waiters still had a lot to accomplished before he can waits.
do The Waiters need to change The Doesn't Waiters?
since they themselves doesn't wait before they become The Waiters.
or maybe The Waiters are seeking companionship in their waiting,
gripping fear of being alone at the end.

It's been a while since Death visited the family,
the last time it did, everybody are tearful,
maybe for The Waiters, it's the tear of sadness or joy, respectively of their waiting,
maybe for The Doesn't Waiters, it's the tear of shock or nothingness,
that being obtuse, they forget Death too will visit them,
taking them to the end,

now to think bout it, dulu both of my bro got this period in their life.. and at exactly the same age! if i'm not mistaken..so, i take it as a dugaan la, light is definitely at the end of tunnel, the only thing that we dont know is whether it's the ipoh tunnel, smart tunnel or the swiss alps tunnel..

the real blessing in this dugaan is dat it make me sit and take a step back and look at life. bout the shortness of it. bout the purpose of it. bout our eventual ending.
well, people are busy chasing wealth to ensure "happyness" but does the process doesn't matter?

n it make refect my time at oversea. i don't have much but it's enuff and i feel great, no, estatic everyday.so, i think the answer to this is u don't need much but enuff. enuff is up to what ur desires are. e.g, if you are happy with a car, then, u should have a car to be enough.

now, next issue, it is NEVER enough in Malaysia. y? are the people too engrossed in material wealth? are the expenses are too expensive? i think it's greed. here's a story, say, abu, a simpleton living in a kampung house lead a simple abu life of waking up, go to the kebun, petang;lepak at kedai kopi, maghrib; go to the surau and sleep and repeat.he's feels great currently cuz he has everything and its ENUFF.

Now, bring abu to KL, suddenly, abu needs to have a day job+ OT + part time job business to cope. how does he feel? of course unhappy cuz he doesn't have enuff.
so, is it circumsatnces or personal greed dat determine wut is enuff? eg, do i NEED a dahsyat car to make travelling easier and impress my socialites or do i LOVE to have a dahsyat car to make travelling easier and impress my socialites.

if you look at maslow theory, the bottom of the pyramid, it's food, shelter and self-regulatory physiological needs. (haha,aku xpenah blaja business pun tau menatang ni)but, are these enuff? to create happyness?

Al-fatihah..pagi ni aku dikejutkan dengan berita kematian..cik jun telah pulang ke rahmatullah..terkejut..sebab xsangka langsung..mak lagi la..nangis lagi..they had been friends like, for tens of years..n she says like, all of her friends had gone now. tinggal dia sorg je..i'd written a poem while i was in med school bout the malay death scenario.. ade dlm buku kt hospital, nnt i write it down..

just the past 2 days, i read a line from saidina Ali ibn Abi Talib bout how death is the real beginning of life..n he's definitely rite..all this while kite sibuk sgt kejar dunia but we forgot that our main goal is the hereafter..dunia ni fana je.. sat je..tup tap tup tap abes..see, i seem like only yesterday i went to send kuih to her house, now she's gone..n now, cepat je aku dah jadi tua..n looking back mmg most of the time is wasted..on what? lagha stuff..tv, game, tido..i'm sure gonna regret this in my grave if this keep going on..

well, i certainly agree with the best creamy category. it's definitely skippy. wha? am i a pb xpert? you betcha. had been my staple food since i even began to consume milk! pb is the stuff that running through my arteries and veins right now. ask any of my primary and secondary school mates.

n what's more weird is dat i'm asian! we don't eat sandwiches, we eat rice! but somehow, the stork screw up at the baby factory and i end up with a western tounge. which got to the disbelief and sometimes, ire of my family and mates.

been watching russell peters dis week n dat guy is freaking hilarious. n the cool thing is dat he can make racist jokes without annoying anyone, incl the jews!

what i want to tell to day is my experience at the AMMF. the 1st guy, Azhar Usman, was doin his stuff n tells a joke. then, people laugh. then, still in my joyful moment, i was like, laughing n repeating the joke to hadi jiwang indon.

what happen was, the whole audience went quiet during the time i repeat that joke to hadi jiwang indon n damn it, they all heard it. that guy asked to the audience, "ahaha, who said that?...silence...of course nobody will answer, they always like that.ahaha"

then he made a joke about people like me. what happen to me at that time? cower down, menyorok tersengih2 like any typical melayu bila disuruh panggil depan bagi ucapan ke ape. bile dibelakang punya la bising.ehehe..but that's normal.hehe

no, i was reminded of this incident when i watched russell peters n one of the audicence's phone rang, n nobody wouldn't admit it n then...you know what you gonna get with him..hehehe..kesian all the poor chinese and indian guys but he's cool and knew where to drew the line.

i'm just afraid of the long case in a sense that when u take time to think they think u r unsure or dunno anything. so, to be confident is to try answer as fast n precise as you could, with the ability to blurt non-stop 4 30 sec will impose a significant impression to the examiners.
but many times it happened b4 when i tried this tactic, i'd end up looking stupider than i appear..then, i start to dig my hole..
so, the question is, whts the time limit u have to think. before u appear to be stupid? i say 10 sec is too long.. around 2-3 sec. with 5 sec max..
if u get an easy case, then this is achivable. but, if u get a hard case, say, ITP or some other rare cases that u never seen in the ward but suddenly they appear in the exam, thank god, like MM or MS or M.Night Syamalan syndrome..then, u'll go like..hickory dickory dock, the mouse ran down the clock, fuck fuckety fuck..
so, i think wht i'm gonna do is give 2-5 minutes to the patient to tell everything he wants to tell. then, shoot him with close-ended yes/no answers to the end (5 minutes). then, quickly do vitals n gen (5min icl BP), specific systems (5 min), other systems (5 minutes)=25-30 minutes. the next 30 minutes will be arraging the hx, p/e, do a nice summary, give min 3 Dd, do ix with blood, imaging, special, then mx non-pharm/pharm/sx. 20 min. then 5 min to rite aetiology/patho/risk factor/complication/prog of prov Dd. there, 1 hour in total.
b4 dis in exam, i'm very nice to the patient, clerking like 40 min with rapport building+empathy thn, realize, shyte, i havent examine the eye/pregnant stomach/MSE.

-2009 the day Arsenal lost a 2 goal lead to drew 4-4 in the last 5 minutes. i woke up at 4 am to see it and it still hurts till today.
